    Totally satisfied!
Recently I purchased this machine for my son who is a Linux fan and who runs all his computers on Linux. The moment I read the specification I felt it would be a good buy for him, and the moment he read the specification he asked me to go for it.Initially both of us felt that it might be a bit heavy, but the moment we opened the packet we were surprised by how light weight it was, contrary to our expectation. The computer comes with DOS preinstalled, and it is easy to install Linux on it. The configuration at home went like a charm. The laptop is fast, feels fast, and the display is large and clear. We were immediately able to use the WiFi and there was no problem anywhere in using this superb laptop. The cost is reasonable for a machine with such capacity of HDD, RAM, and other facilities. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

    Technically decent.
Reasonable spec at a reasonable price but the build quality leaves a lot to be desired. The keyboard bounces up and down like it’s made of sponge and the whole body is very flexible. Fine to sit on a desk but I wouldn’t like to carry it about or abuse it much.

    A disappointment
I have a Lenovo Thinkpad laptop at work. I bought this G50 thinking it would be of similar quality but I was mistaken. It is very cheaply made. The keyboard is more like a tablet keyboard and the HDMI port itself has a loose connection, making it frustrating and troublesome to use.It has a small battery which doesn’t last more than a few hours. The hard drive is also very slow by modern standards but it’s easy to replace it with a SSD drive. It does not have dedicated graphics, meaning that it cannot handle 3D games very well at all. Though to be fair, I knew that would be the case before I bought it.I wouldn’t buy one of these again.

    nice and fast
The laptop is slim, nice and fast.

    But overall good quality.
Bit expensive for what you get. But overall good quality.

Worst keyboard and track-pad I have ever used
Having read other reviews about this laptop, I thought I would buy it and see what it was like. The first things I noticed were how bad the trackpad and the keyboard were. When you press a key, the whole keyboard sinks into the laptop body and it feels very cheap and flimsy. In addition, when typing, I found that the space bar only worked about 30% of the time. I am not particularly fast at typing, so I don’t think it’s the case that “I just wasn’t pressing it properly”.The keyboard and space bar issues were bad enough that I returned the laptop. I am shortly returning to university and I don’t want to have to write a thesis using a keyboard that doesn’t work properly. If you are considering buying this laptop, make sure you go into a shop and try it out in person first.

    Try before buying
The keyboard feels very cheap – like a toy. As I type this, the keyboard is sagging in the middle. The spacebar is annoying as repeated presses sometimes don’t have any affect. The trackpad is the worst I’ve ever used with sporadic jumping / highlighting text / randomly selecting check boxes when buying online / increasing magnification and sometimes just not responding at all. When this happens, I restart the computer (have the power button set to shut down computer when pressed). These laptops came bundled with Superfish malware in addition to the usual bloatware (thanks Lenovo) which slowed down the laptop to a crawl. Even after removal, I later found malware lurking in various hidden folders which I deleted manually. With the crap removed, this laptop speeded up and I was able to use it for recording instruments via USB without latency. I probably should have returned this laptop but I got it for a good price with 2 years warranty so persevered with it. Still looking for a solution to the awful trackpad issues. When I use my 2006 Lenovo laptop the keyboard has a good tactile feel and does not sag, and the trackpad is perfect. Ten years later, Lenovo quality seems to have took a dive.Battery life is exaggerated. From full charge, it will show anywhere between 3.5 to 4 hours remaining. The problem is that there is a rapid decline in battery performance, so it can quickly go from showing say 1.5 hours remaining to a warning message saying “Battery Low Plug in charger now 10 minutes remaining”. At first, I took the battery life indication to be correct and was using it unplugged, but the warning for low battery came up and 2 minutes later the laptop fizzled out. By comparison, the battery life indication on my old Lenovo laptop is predictable and accurate. The left / right trackpad buttons feel cheap. For some reason the left button is sunk lower down than the right as if someone has hit the button hard – turns out they are all like this.Good points :Slim and lightweightFan very quietEfficient and cool running (after removing bloatware)Power supply brick almost cold to the touchThe one key optimizer softwareBad points :Keyboard sagSpacebar sometimes needs pressing several timesTrackpad issues and left / right buttons feel very cheapNo fine adjust for brightness control – it jumps from too dim to too brightStupid placement of X button next to volume button – you try to turn up volume and accidentally hit the X which shuts down the webpage.Battery life is deliberately exaggerated to hide the fact that battery life is poor
